my lambretta late for what?: November 2006

Today, while watching the TV show Scrubs I had an epiphany.

During the show, and only a few minutes apart, the characters mentioned two medical issues, endocarditis and pneumothorax. To most, this event would just pass by like mentioning any other bizarre medical term, but not to me. These two terms are a few of the more serious medical issues I have had in my life and consequently caught my attention. Pneumothorax is a strange but not too uncommon of a medical problem, but endocarditis is, and the mention of them both in the same episode is too coincidental.

So, what am I to assume from this? It would be outlandish to assume that the writers know me and are writing shows to catch my attention. So, a more logical explanation would be that this conspiracy reaches beyond just the show to reality as I see it. I have noticed these strange coincidences since I was a child. For example, only days after reading Julius Cesar, Lisa, in the “Simpsons” said to Bart “et tu Barte.” These coincidences are not just limited to TV, but school, friends, family, and every part of my life is swollen with peculiar coincidences.

So, the world is a fictional existence in my mind brought about by a twisted group of experimentalists who are constantly searching for my reaction to bizarre situations, I can live with that.
